Water Heaters

New Regulations Mean Better Technology

As a Denver hot water contractor, Broomhall Brothers services, repairs, and installs major brands like State, AO Smith, Rheem, GE, as well as 40-400 gallon water tanks. We keep to industry standards and maintain U.S. Department of Energy requirements for water heaters. With these energy efficient regulations, known as National Appliance Energy Conservation Act (NAECA), as updated on April 16, 2015, we work with only those equipment manufacturers who have made the necessary improvements and adjustments to their electric and gas water heaters.

With these regulations and improvements, there are sizing and planning issues to be aware of when replacing your water heater. Water heaters may now be bigger in size so this will require more space for installing the newer, higher efficiency water heaters. If your existing water heater is located in a confined alcove or small closet, additional planning to accommodate larger water heater dimensions may be necessary. These issues may come up for owners and operators of older buildings and in multi-family housing where space is limited.

On the energy side, these updated regulations can yield much better energy savings. Operational costs will decrease as the higher efficiency means less hot water to produce therefore lowering the amount of energy needed to produce the heat. The Department of Energy estimates that these new standards will result in $63 billion in energy savings over the next 30 years and will avoid 172.5 millions metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions which is equivalent to the annual emissions of 33.8 million automobiles.

As part of the water heater options, Broomhall Brothers also offers tankless equipment choices. After 12 years of servicing, installing, and warrantying these products, we recommend only one brand, Intellihot. Our technicians are factory-trained at the Galesburg, Illinois location and this equipment has unlimited starts, works well with return re-circulation pumps, and has an industry best commercial warranty of 10 years.

Always available for emergency and routine maintenance, Broomhall Brothers offers building owners and operators scheduled times and best options to order the correct equipment while repairing water heaters onsite and with emergency mobile solutions if needed. We can custom design pipe fitting to troubleshoot the building's water distribution to ensure comfort, safety, and value to both residents and owners alike.

At Broomhall Brothers, we provide same day emergency service, a 90-day warranty on labor and 1-year on parts, technicians that are factory-trained and CFC certified, and licensed in 30 Colorado cities and counties. We provide safety, value, efficiency, and comfort to our customers.
